June 10, 2025 Practical training session for geophysics students from Satbayev University

GEODEVICE recently conducted a practical training session for geophysics students from Satbayev University (Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K. I. Satpayev) in Almaty.

The session focused on hands-on experience with our magnetometers — MaxiMag, SmartMag, and AeroSmartMag. Students explored how to use the equipment for ground and airborne magnetic surveys, learned about data acquisition workflows, and discussed real-world applications in geophysical exploration.

We are especially grateful to the students and faculty for their enthusiasm and the excellent video they prepared capturing highlights of the training. Your engagement and professionalism made this event a true success.

GEODEVICE is proud to support the next generation of geoscientists by contributing to their practical education and bridging the gap between academic learning and fieldwork.

May 12, 2025 Comparative flight AeroSmartMag and AeroQuantumMag

We recently did a comparison between two of our drone magnetometers in Manitoba. Here are the results
On May 5th, 2025, GEODEVICE, EarthEx Geophysical Solutions Inc., and Lithogen Inc. held a successful field demo in Selkirk, Manitoba, to compare two cutting-edge UAV magnetometers – the Overhauser AeroSmartMag and Cesium AeroQuantumMag.

Despite 6–8 m/s gusty winds and site constraints like nearby buildings and power lines, both systems performed exceptionally under real-world survey conditions.

Highlights:
• AeroSmartMag delivered clean magnetic data without filtering or microleveling – ready straight out of the flight.
• AeroQuantumMag showed robust performance at both 10 and 15 m/s.
• Key differences in the maps were mostly due to altitude and some sensor sway.

Several base magnetometers installed at the same time were also a part of the demo. And yes, AeroSmartMag can be used not only as a magnetometer drone, but also as an actual base station.

This demonstration verified the stability and field-readiness of GEODEVICE’s UAV magnetometers – offering reliable solutions for high-resolution UAV-based magnetic surveys.

March 10, 2025 PDAC 2025

Approximately 25,000 professionals gather in Toronto each year to attend PDAC Convention in Toronto, for GEODEVICE, the event held on March 2-3 2025 was our 7th show and it became a great tradition to meet and greet everyone during this time. Our drone and airborne magnetometers were definitely in the center of attention, alongside our other geophysical equipment including marine resistivity and IP and marine magnetic.
Till next year Toronto!

May 24, 2024 Participation in the DIVE (Drilling the Ivrea-Verbano zonE) project

We are pleased to share with you the news about GEODEVICE's participation in the DIVE (Drilling the Ivrea-Verbano zonE) project, where we were invited by the renowned Austrian University Montanuniversität Leoben!

Our energy source Jack-2500HP with its remote control unit JackPad and Borehole P-wave source Pulse traveled all the way to the beautiful area of Val d’Ossola between Domodossola and Lago Maggiore in Italy to take part in a purely scientific international project, the goal of which is to explore the nature and evolution of Earth’s deep continental crust through deep drilling. This project gained support from the International Continental Scientific Drilling Program (ICDP), from various international research support agencies and institutions. The project participants are confident that it will provide a huge amount of important geological, geophysical, and microbiological information.

GEODEVICE is immensely proud to be able to contribute to the development of science!
